I know I'm starting to bore some of you with all my tandem questions, but would like to know if riding on a tandem can be considered as power training.

My wife is a newbie and not up to scratch, so I find that I pedal a lot harder because I have to "carry her". What makes it worse is that we have to pedal at a cadence that is acceptable to both parties, so I cannot just spin at a higher cadence(which I'm used to) to rest my legs.

No SD I have been riding tandem for 5 months(and my wife) and I also thought I do more power training on the tandem but I when I get onto my single bike there is not any improvement from what it was before. I feels like tou are working hader but i do not think so----In any case thats my view !!!
