Why the MTN Bike park is NOT World Class...

@snakesean:  I think for a first attempt it's good and I do enjoy taking my DJ bike around it (much better geometry for the track than an XC bike).  I was merely saying that for the intended market, a more open track might have suited better - but who knows maybe you're building that one as we speak.  The track on page 19 is based on The Fix - and a great plan too.  Now all we have to do is pray for sun so that the rain stops eating away the rollers;)

@Zidane:  The rant 'n rave board would be quite dead if no-one voiced their opinions.  I for one will take the bike park, but not without a  comment or two.

I wafted through this whole issue and apart from a headache' date=' I cant see any problems with the posts.

Some people put forward their opinion, so what, if it dosnt effect you, why should you worry.?

Some people said it wasnt their ideal, so what, if it dosnt effect you, why should you worry.?

Some folk said their may be inherant dangers, so what, if it dosnt effect you, why should you worry.?

The fact is, nothing will ever suit everybody, thats life, if you enjoy it, great thats all that matters.!

Funny how all the people who have actually picked up some tools and have built trails seem to appreciate Geoff and his team's efforts.  My guess is that the biggest "contributors" to the "constructive comments" have not built a single jump or berm or NS section themselves.

If you have, tell us where it is and we can have an official hub test ride and we can give you some hints and tips.

I have seen a couple of guys railing the pump track.  (including Stifler manualling 4 of the humps.)  The problem is not the track, but the vacant space above the shoulders and between the legs ...

Nah, weather was a bit dodge.  Going on Saturday morning, hopefully the sun is shining.

I want to hit a big sketch drop, so will need all the gear.  Helmet cam is prepped and on helmet this time.  Going to try and capture all the trails.

I had such a ball yesterday at the park! I got there before 8. At about 10 I decided to do one last lap before heading home. On the way up I ran into some of the guys from Trailriding, joined them for a few laps, and fun was had!

Chasing each other through the green routes up by the trees - close enough to the guy in front of you to see the dirt getting picked up by his tyres, jumping every jump we could find, nailing the berms... was great. I'm hoping that Oliver will send me some photos. We took some really cool ones.

Which one was Matthew? I saw one kid without a helmet on a bmx, and another kid on a DH bike, but he looked much older than 7.

I remember seeing him. Mostly because he looks funny with that big helmet! LOL

The kid has guts! Thumbs%20Up

Okay, I'm not gonna read all 15 pages so this is what I think.

Why does it need to be "world class"? Is some UCI event gonna be held there? Only to the peopl that buy the overseas mags, dvds and who has been to oversees park would think it's not world class. From what I've seen it looks nice and caters for everybody that is not a world class rider.

The park is awesome. I like to go there for an hour before or after work, and really have a good time flying around the green routes...and getting a little more air on the bumps in 'Drop Zone' every time. Still gotta get up that little kick on 'Space Junk" though.

I take my hat off to all involved in making the park a reality. Thank you!
