Does anyone know how to repair the freewheel on a mavic wheel to stop it from making a grrrrr grrrr sound when one is free wheeling?Do the small springs inside the free wheel need to be oiled or greased? Please help as I have cleaned this out so many times and it still continues with the chain running forward on the cluster.

You are trying to do two things:

1) Dampen the sound of the pawls on the ratched (aka get rid of the grrrr sound) and

2) Fix the bearing in the freewheel that's stuck and causing the freewheel to not freewheel when you're not pedaling.

In the first instance, do what Dirtbreath says. Use grease.

In the second instance, you have to remove the freewheel (you know how by now) and knock out the old bearings and replace with new ones. They're two cartridge bearings in there, I don't know the bearing code offhand. But take out the cartridges and look for the 68XX number on the rubber seal and get two of the same from a bearing place. Don't buy Indian or Chinese bearings and try and get them from someone other than Bearingman which is easily the most expensive bearing place on the planet.
