I had planned on going for a ride on the 1st but cancelled (bad feeling - drunk drivers etc).

My sister once had a group of guys in a car slow down and start hooting and hollering and stuff right next to her.  They got really close and then one of the guys hung out the window and smacked her on her bum.  Not pleasant - and the last time she (or any of us) have ridden along that road alone.

Was riding on Sat with Snapshot and BF, Zoo Cookie, the Rock and another rider round Voortrekkerhoogte (Thaba Tshwane?) when a driver in a military licensed vehicle came tearing out of a base, nearly getting to know us reeaaallly closely, sped off without even looking. He reckoned without a slightly ticked off 'the Rock' (on a pimped carbon BH mtb) chasing him down a few 100m down the road at the traffic light. A dof look and shrugged shoulders is the extent off the response to a delicately phrased enquiry as to whether it was out of order for cyclists to expect drivers to look both ways before tearing into the road.

The very first time I took my 11 year old daughter out on the road a boy racer drove (in my estimation) above 100kph in a 40kph zone, and passed within 20cm of us with his hand glued to the hooter. We were in single file, me at the rear with a flashing hazard light, both of us wearing neon green tops, and in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon. What he didn't reckon on were the line of speed humps on the road and his taxi's piss poor flying (and landing) abilities. I had the greatest pleasure in cycling up to him, and telling him quite politely about life and karma. Two security guards who saw what happened were in hysterics. My daughter thought it was the scariest but funniest thing that she's ever seen. I was just very happy that we were uninjured.

On Sunday a similar thing happend to our cycling group - it was around the zoo lake area. We were in a bunch of ten. A driver came out the driveway, we passed the driver. And headed over a few speed bumps. The driver was such a retard. Went past us at speed and hit the speed bump, went air borne.
