Seems there is going to be a lot of shopping online and in the 2nd hand market this year.

I think it would be a good idea to import a basket of commonly needed parts and resell them here. Even at second-hand prices you'll make enough money back to cover whatever you ordered for yourself.

I just pray that nothing happens to my bikes because I can not afford to replace parts if something should go wrong. The last time I bought tures and thought I treat myself and get GP400s wich was on special for R380ea and when I got my new MTB wheels I had to fork out R470 for the Mountain Kings Protections. I'm afraid they are gonn be replaced with R80 nylon tyres if somthing happens to them.

And to think I was badmouthed in this discussion for stating my sentiments about supporting the local rip off artists!!!!!!

i dont thinks its fair to call them local rip off artists. they have a standard markup although some lbs do take advantage. i light of current  enconomic conditions and tuff times why not by for almost half the at total cycling

During the previous R/$ high in 2002 when it reached very much the same levels as now,  all prices went up. The prices did not go down when the R/$ recovered and dropped to R5.85 to the US$. That is what I call rip-off. But then again consumers tend to be like lambs to the slaughter......... hulle loop in bondels (read bunches) en bler en worry nie want hulle het mos baie geld!!!!!!!!!
