Have you tried strides.co.za!!
Yup' date=' the last two pics I posted on page 2.? Stunning rack, here is the prices...<pre wrap="">1 x 4 bike          R2958-001 x 5 bike           R3138-001 x shocks          R 390-001 x install          R 350-001 x del/coll     R 200-00But he also makes new holes through the lid and I can't get myself to do this yet. Embarrassed[/quote']

I am not sure how you will fit the other options, but I had a trialer (mallo owns it now) with a 5 bike holder on the top and it was fitted by drilling into the top and sides of the trailer lid. They used a silicone type sealer (be careful silicone is acidic and could cause rust)and owned this trailer for 5 years with no problem. Also, ensure you upgrade your shocks or have them pumped up to handle the increased weight on the lid. I prefer the more streamlined look pof the strides and personally I prefer the fork attachment as a trailer with leaf springs is quite bouncy. Also, deflate tyres somewhat so that it does not bounce around when empty (not too much otherwise it builds up heat which is not good)

I have a fixed rack on my venter trailer. It is great but the fact that it is not easy to remove is a problem and taking the front wheel off the bike is also a paid, especially if you are a family of 4. If you have roof rails try and get the Thule system where the bike just fits on wheel and all. Easy on, easy off.

I traveled to Cape Town with two road bikes on a Thule proride and used almost 3l more /100km.

Stop messing around with rusty Venters. Get the Rolls Royce of trailers' date=' the Alustar from Multitrail.

It can be had with a killer top rack that is strong enough to carry Venters on top. Just combine it with your favourite type of bike rack. Thule Proride or similar.

Ok, so I have practically the same as this now.   How do you tie the backwheels to the rack and how do you tie the front wheels in the holders that they don't spin around ?

Some of us work for a living, you know... Wink

I was supplied with velcro straps to strap the back wheels

on. The front wheels spinning is not a problem, but it

annoys me, so I just put a bungee cord through. If I'm going

to leave the trailer parked somewhere I put a bike security

chain around them (as well as the bikes)...

Was also thinking about the bungee cord.  Is the velcro straps strong enough ?  And just like normal velcro ?  Or how about cable ties

I see you posted in Feb about the quality of the Venters.

They are not great, and you just need to appreciate that

fact and look after them. I bought mine in 1994 and it's still

in perfect nick. I keep it clean and well covered. If you leave

them out they will fall to bits...

Velcro is more than strong enough - just don't use a piece the

size of a cotton thread. The normal stuff that is used for straps

for timing chips or the ER24 bands is adequate. It doesn't hold the

bike in - gravity does that. It just stops the wheel jumping out.

Cable ties would be a pain in the @rse...
