Hey All, a question about carbon fibre frames? How many years do they last and do they go soft after some time. (Loose there stiffness??) What you think of Stevens frames?? Want to buy 2nd hand so wont have any warranties. Are they a quality lasting brand?

Please can some of the pro's and knowledgable people help out and avise

Thanks

Hi TriFun, my experience with carbon frames has been good, they don't go soft, but need to be looked after more carefully than aluminium or titanium. Some manufacturers offer lifetime frame warranties, eg Trek. Stevens is a quality brand, but maybe google the frame details to see what other users have found. Not sure what price range you're looking at but Solomons had some great deals of trek carbon framesets

PM Joss....  the cycle shop he worked for sold them.

Specced with Ultegra groupsets( most of them did)  were overpriced in my humble opinion.  But that is my opinion.

Rather look at a Solis frame or Trek specials at Solomons.  That way if

something goes wrong, you have a warranty.  Either that or make sure

your insurance is sorted.  So that if something happens you are sorted
