Hey guys

Ive just got some new wheels (ztr 355 rims with stans conversion using olympic strips) and have fitted these tubeless ready tyres in 2.00 on them which reputedly weigh 485g.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this tyre, how it behaves and performs in certain conditions, eg. loose over dry or dryconditions, how punture resistant it is, how it wears etc.

I weigh 60kg and ride a hardtail, any pressure recommendations for the tyre?

Ill be giving a little review of the tyres once ive had time to ride them abit, they seem to be perfect for dry conditions, light and designed for low pressure and sealant use so shoud burp less and not be such a biatch to get seated.  And they seem quite tough for their weight with a nice transition in the side nobs for cornering and not too thin sidewalls.

Thanks!

Dude i can talk from experience from the normal jones XR tires they are just amazing i used them in sabie two years ago throughout the whole experience and never had issues with them i am now looking to upgrade back to them when my bontrager super X tires wear out

people will say bontrager tires roll off rims and burp a lot i have never had any of these problems with bontrager tires and i have been using them for close on three years of heavy use can not complain and are some of the best tires with regards to puncture prevention as well!!!

oh ya i am the same weight as you and found 1.8 for front and 2.0 for rear was the perfect pressure with these due to the smaller knobs you could possibly go with less sky in your rounds smiley2.gif

Kewl wil try the pressures, just need to get my bike sorted. Ive only done 5 rides with it and then started upgrading so I constantly dont have all the parts for a complete bike, like currently I dont have a stem.

Went for a ride on Sat, was just cruising along a straight contour, not very rocky at all, after climbing for around an hour when the sidewall on my Bonty Jones XR Tubeless rear tire blew out...I can shove three fingers into  the tear. I must have previously damaged it somewhere as I was on a complete flat section with nothing that could damage it nearby but the blowout came with no warning whatsoever.

Not impressed with these tires or any other Bontrager products. Have so far bent a Race Lite seatpost, a seat post QR mechanism, and now the tire...all in a few months on a new bike.

90 kilo's, ride a TREK FUEL EX trail bike, blew out at about 2.2 bar. I ride varied terrain, lots of singletrack, the odd rocky section thrown in. Ride fairly aggressively...those tires were never suited to the bike or to my weight I guess....they lacked grip when pumped hard and when riding them  softer I used to ding the rims when landing on rocks. Fast rolling though. I also damaged the sidewall on the rear wheel on some rocks in Transkei...sidewalls too weak and thin...I have a sneaky feeling that that is where the tire blew out. I think for a lighter XC rider at the right pressure they should be cool but no good for me though!
