I obviously didn't measure properly and my new seatpost is slightly too narrow for the frame, is there some sort of spacer I could use to solve the problem, or do I have to get a new seatpost?

You can buy fancy seatposts spacers at some bike shops. I don't know which.

However, a DIY shim is easy and fun to make.  Go buy yourself an imported beer in an aluminium can. Take a magnet to the bottle store and check that you're not being sold a steel can.

Finish the beer and proceed to cut a strip of aluminium from the can, 50mm wide. Wrap it around the post and tighten it as per normal.

If you don't like that solution, go to a machine shop and ask for brass shim stock. Does the same job for more money and not half as much fun.

I love shimming stuff and getting paid to do so is a bonus.

You can make a hell of a lot of shims from a 1000ml can...
