been sukkeling with this the whole morning! any tips? know the balance point has got to be lower, but it's kinda difficult to keep the front wheel up for longer than about 10 metres.

Two things to start with.

Two fingers on the back brake

and keep your arms straight.

Don't do the lift in to easy a gear, and keep trying to get over the fulcrum point WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE BREAKS.Wink

it's a fixie, so don't really have a choice with the gearsBig%20smile

?and to answer dirtbtreath: i've got a front brake on for now. i've been commuting about 12 kays into work with it, and i'm not yet confident enough to handle the cbd without an "emergency" brake. it's not easy getting in an out of jozi at the moment with all the roadworksShocked

sure is! the bollards and the trenches in the city streets at the moment present a serious challenge. however, it's not the trucks and taxis i worry about - they're reduced to a near-standstill anyway - it's the damned pedestrians! they cross everywhereShocked have had to shoudler and elbow a few to save my own skinEvil%20Smile
