MERIDA 905 A DECENT BIKE?

I can get a Merida 905 Com for R7000. ?Frame is 2008 model, but it puzzles me that it has a 9-speed Ultegra groupset. ?Did?any?of?them?ship?new?with?9-speed?

 

Is it a decent bike? ?If you know ANYTHING about it, or you own one, please let me know.

For what it's worth, I've got the Merida 903 2008 with Tiagra groupo and shima 500 wheelset. Bought it new but now use it as training bike

 

I've been very impressed with it (my other bike is an orbea orca with full DA but still love riding my merida even on long days)

I used to have a 904 that came with 10 speed Shimano 105. It was a good bike that I enjoyed riding. I still feel that it was great value for money.

 

The 2008 905 came with a mixture of 10 speed 105 and Ultegra:

To the best of my knowledge, Shimano no longer manufacture 9 speed Ultegra and haven't done so for a couple of years.

It really does look great, but the 9-speed groupset has me worried about the age - think I'm gonna give it a miss. Will look out for one with 10-speed set.  Thanks for comments.

R7000 for Ultegra 9sp is rediculous. Second hand 10sp bikes go for that price.

You will battle to find parts for it in years to come.

Hi there, have you found a bike yet? I have a Merida Road Lite 905 with 10 spd Ultegra that I want to sell, the bike has only done 900km, still like new, recently serviced. my reason for selling is that I want to get a mtb, don't feel safe on the road anymore.

The seller most certainly swopped the groupset and replaced with 9spd, some shops have been known to do the same and downgrade components then try sell it claiming its the real deal.
