This morning my nephew and myself went out on the tandem. We went down DF Malan Drive from Pta North as we wanted to go out on the Pelindaba road.

As we were stopping at he robot at the intersection of DF Malan/Bloed St I felt the tandem wobble and thought my partner had lost had his balance and then I felt a hand on my back and thought he was holding onto me.

Next thing I new one guy had his hand in my back pocket and another guy was robbing my nephewAngryDead

Luckily they only got a spare tube from me (my house keys were in my other pocket and my cellphone was at home) and they took my nephew's cellphoneOuch

They were in and out our pockets before we even knew what had hit us. I was so busy trying to keep the bike upright that I was not able to react fast enough. The ******* then had the audasity to walk casually away and still look us square in the eye.

All this happened while there was a metro van parked behind a taxi that had broken down in the turn. They probably waited until the taxi obscured the metro police's view of us and then attacked.

We didn't even bother to call them over as we would probably have got the cold shoulder. We just turned around and went back home and reported it to the police station.

I know this is long winded but that is exactly what these arseholes expect us to do. Nothing! Please I am not blaming you for not reporting it to Metro, but you should have.

I think all of us should be wide awake and always expect to be a victim. Please do not look like one!

Sorry to hear about this, it really pisses me off!!! smiley7.gif

Audacious pickpockets - we're gonna need zips.

My daughter had her phone snatched at the end of out rd, guy pulls in to ask for directions as she's texting, she leans in, he grabs the phone and drives off.

Hurtful and annoying for sure - but pretty comical too, once we'd calmed down.

Luckily my nephew's phone was old and was on it's way out. So it was not a major loss. What hurts me most is the tube they took......Do they know what cycling stuff costs these days!!!DeadWink
