I know MartinHatting - Hubber bought a grouppo from CWC and I think he payed R4000 or 4500 something for a complete.  some oversees places also do grouppos and are well trusted. try chainreaction but they have became expensive lately.

I've been riding with a full SLX group (barring rear derailleur, which is XT) for about 6 months now. Highly recommended.

 

Remember, the value graph starts tipping downward a bit after SLX, so you're getting less and less for more and more. For example, SLX cranks are only 40g heavier than XT, and more durable (because the middle ring is carbon with steel teeth - as opposed to XT's alloy).

 

Seriously, read what BikeRadar says: 

 

"It may not have the light weight sexiness of XTR or the bruising durability of Saint, but for sheer bang for buck, SLX is the best off-road groupset Shimano has ever made."

 

As Bos said, I paid R4200, but that was in October... I suspect you might be in for about R5500 now.
