  1. I'm having exactly the same problem...my right knee-cap will ache just under the skin when hitting a hill early in the ride or 40-60min into the trail. will check the seat height.....
  2. MTB group rides...? My mates at work are in the "Advanced" group....(Botmans kop sewe keer op en af... my longe het in my voete gele na een op...)... look for a group that does averages in the 12-16km/h...
  3. white only for the looks...., bro... but thanks..all crystal clear....will look at the (white) Crest then....
  4. and difference between Crest and Alpine rim...? I have Rocky Mountain Element Team bike and don't know if I should take the white Crest or Alpine rim with the Hope Pro II hubs... Crest or Alpine...?
  5. Must be a CK headset then....but aren't those INDESTRUCTIBLE?
  6. On this matter.....is it better to get the 100mm Reba and extend it to 120mm or the U-Turn version...which of the two is more reliable. Which of the two are stiffer. Thanks.
  7. call....its cheaper to call the uk from landline than to call Botswana...bizarre..
  8. Saw one at the expo last Thursday evening. I studied it over and over again. Looks well made. I had my mind set on the Thule EuroWay, 2-bike, but this Bosal was R2750 compared to the R4499 EuroWay. Seemed like a no brainer. But yes, to many moving parts. So I asked the salesman about the warrenty on the Bosal. Remember, the CFO was standing next to me! The salesman replied..."What warranty do you want? What can go wrong?" I was perplexed and did not know whether to laugh or to give him reasons for my question. Obviously this was not good news to my other half and we immediately walked away and chatted in the corner. We returned and asked the guy what feedback they had so far of the product. He said.."Wel, ons eerste een het nie so goed gewerk nie, toe maak ons 'n nuwe een en het met hom in die veld gaan rondry, en so ver het dit nog nie probleme gegee nie". Anyways, the salesman did not inspire us with confidence and we were not planning to be any lab rats either. We decided on the EuroWay!
  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's good enough for Lance is not always good enough for YOU!!...... First Choice: PM Ngala for the Chumba..... Second: Rad006's Titus Motolite.... bak2basiks2010-03-10 03:57:38
  10. The Mongoose! This bike is bulletproof and it comes with beter kit than the Giant, apart from the hydraulic brakes. This specific version of the Tyax, used to come with the XRC fork. I know, cause my girlfriend had the same back three years ago. So, the RS Tora is a good shock. My experience with the XCR fork was good reliability, but it did not feel very well made. The remote-lockout worked well, but it felt rock, rock hard and 'intenally loose' somewhere. Other than that, I think both bikes will provide you with a quality ride. Period. I think you like the Mongoose more and you should buy the bike you feel 'cooler as ekke' on! 'Cause on the trail, chicks see you and they will go: 'nice bike'! Anyways, the Mongoose is the one I'd choose......also....its got SRAM kit on.....never say die stuff that...!! bak2basiks2010-03-10 03:47:28
  11. Technically' date=' this is illegal.. that is why we cant watch series/movies on one of the web broadcasters unless we have a foreign proxy.....even though we all do it (watch and download). There is lots of arguments about the "but its just like taping onto VHS" etc - nevertheless, illegal [/quote'] YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I DON'T do technical!
  12. I'm all cool with the increase...Its been R30 increase evry year for last 5 years (or since I've had DStv).... I've got xxtraview...........Egoli/Binnelanders in the bedroom.....the other TV all to myself........... R529 + 65 = R594.....that's one trip less per month to Canal Walk..... anyways, to me, its money well spent. There is always something to watch...even if it is the odd Top Gear being watched for the millionth time...I love it.... Also... F1 weekend - LIVE Football - LIVE Cycling - LIVE Athletics - LIVE Cricket - LIVE Rugby - LIVE... That's more that R500 worth of stuff... PLUS The big HD upgrade is inevitable.......
  13. Silverado, baby, Silverado......
  14. This seems like the best option. Its been sitting at max pressure with the tube inside for the last couple of days. I hope that it will work. I used emmers and emmers vol soap water to get it to seat, but the soap did a better job at clamping the tire's sidewalls to eachother rather than to the rim... I know, its not ideal having non-ust tires, but I've got no choice. Other commitments atm is keeping me from buy a pair of ust tires...when the time is right, I'll do it properly. Until then, I'm going to take my chances....The GF's ghetto conversion is still holding up well with non ust mountain kings on non-ust Halo rims....
  15. I have the Element Team as well....awesome bike....good to see the support from Head Office....
  16. Ok.....has anyone got some advice or ideas with this combo? I am doing the Ghetto tubeless on my bike. I have Mavic Crossride rims and Maxxis Crosmark non-ust tires. When pumping at the garage, I find no way to inflate this tire......The tire's sidewall is too far from the rim... Has anyone had similar difficulty to get this tire to seat..? I out of ideas and need help.......
  17. Geko cycles, Mason's, Flandria, Cycle Maintenance Center and CWC.... all have helped me.....sometimes I pay, sometimes its for free....
  18. Hmmm...I'm tempted......will you throw in shorting of the fork as well...? Will pay for the spacer.....I have a 08 Fox Float 140mm.....want it shortend to 120mm... forgot to mention.....this fork is practically new......has about 200km on it....less than 10 hours of use up to now... bak2basiks2010-02-04 03:31:24
  19. I emailed them about the Deore crank...they replied in two days and confirmed that the external BB is included... I got my XT shipped in a bag with the BB and spacers and a manual.....with some other stuff too.....all was contained in a little (seems like homemade) box.... Also, OEM is good for me at that price....!!
  20. Formula K24 brakes are awesome....really....modulation and feelis really great....They are on the GF's bike... I have the Elixir CR set and they are much. much better than the Juicy 5's I was so used too. The are very very similar to the the Formulas... XTs are good brakes.....
  21. I did the tubeless conversions on the weekend (non-tubeless tires on non-tubeless rims) with Stan's....it worked well.....actually, it worked very well....!! Sealed them leaks damn quickly...
  22. XT crank and XT FD is very popular....(XT crank and X9 FD my set-up)...then I've got XO RD and triggers and Elixir CR brakes....deadly..... XT FD and X9 shifters and RD will be bulletproof....XT / Elixir brakes....? Comes down to personal preference....XT however seems a bit specific for left/right, whereas with the Elixirs you can put the the rear brake on the right and front on the left (like me) or vice-versa. With XT, I think you can't swop them around.....
