Getting Bike from City to City

Hi

 

Have a bit of a problem, i have 2 bike in JHB and want to get it down to Cape Town, Courier companies are giving me quotes in the reagion of R2000 to R4000, can it really be that expensive??  found out its cheaper to fly up to JHB and bring the bike down myself, but not sure how safe the bike will be!

 

Looking for the best and cheapest way to bring the bikes down. cany anyone help?

Did you tell them it's bicycles and not motor bikes?

PE to CT is R350 with courier,PE to Joburg is R550 for one so double that.

Gave them a call, i would have to place the bikes in crates and then give them the dimensions before they can quote me!

yes , try the old post office . serious. I was coming to C.T. and could not bring the bike so I boxed it and went to the local Post Office. Much cheaper.
