I just washed my bike for tomorrow's ride, and saw there is no pressure in the shock. I can completely compress it with no effort. Its a Magura shock. Is it something small i can sort out at the shop tomorrow morning? Can i just lock it out and ride like that, or will i cause further damage? Hope there's someone online that can help. Thanks

You don't say if it is a pure airspring shock or not but it certainly sounds like an airspring of sorts.

Firstly, you can lock it and ride with no consequences.

Without looking at the shock, I guess that the o-rings in the air piston have failed and air now leaks out of the compression chamber. If you're that way inclined, you can try some emergency treatment. Open the top cap on the airspring side (usually left side) after you've completely deflated the shock. See if there is any oil on top of the piston. If none, put in some oil - about 10ml of just about any clean oil such as engine oil. Close and inflate. It should hold air a bit better than a dry shock. If there was oil, there's no emergency repair you can do.

Get it to a service centre before your next ride.

Good luck and let us know if you had success.
