I was reading the Cape Times today and it was wall-to-wall Zuma this, that, and the other *yawn*, as most newspapers have become in the past while, and then out pops this article about a fellow cyclist willing to go the extra mile(s) to improve the life of a little girl by taking on a truly epic (are we allowed to say this yet ?) ride. Read Gareth Allman's story and request at www.wideride.co.za , and for far less than the cost of an Easter egg you can make a donation, as I have done, for this cause. This guy has my support Clap

Happy Easter to you all !

it is for a good cause - and no am not wanting to run down a good thing, but a serious question.

Is all the money raised going to the girl ? A friend said that some of the money raised was going to the guy who is riding school's as he is also a  teacher ?

Yes, it's openly admitted on the website.

Now that I reread this, what does this mean?

"Anyone wanting to make a donation to these two very worthy causes, by

sponsoring a kilometre cycled by headmaster Allman, can sms ?wideride?

to 36070 to make a R5 donation with a percentage of that going towards

the Wide Ride Challenge." Who makes the rest, the service provider, how much?

Dirtbreath - my friend read a pamphlet, it stated that a certain percentage goes for the young girls operation and certain percentage for upgrading school facilities.

Download the pdf flyer and read that - this will give you more information regarding the fundraising.

Despite what it says, still think its a worthy cause.
