Looking at the way he climbs and he does not have the fast cadence he used to have on the climbs. He is bulkier than what he used to be.I find it hard to see him winning one of the major multi stage races again.

Any thoughts hubbers?

I rekon he is bluffing. I cant stand the fraudster but I beleive he is holding back. Cadence has nothing to do with it.

Shew. He looked 'average' on that last climb. Three minutes down - big deficit so early on. He'll be strong in the second half though. Basso was class - as expected.

Oh, Armstrong's saddle looks lower than it used to be, but maybe that's just my eyesight that's deteriorating...

You think so? It just seems like he is not on par with the other riders.

I gotta kinda agree - but - I just got this feeling (a small one, but a feeling) that Lance is still gonna surprise us.

If it was anyone else I would say no ways, but we are talking about Lance, and if there is one guy that can do it, it is him. I think his "mind power" is just awesome.

I think the Actual Tour will probably lift his game even more.

I agree he is over weight it seems and bulky and is now over the hill at his late 30's but he is still in good shape and I somehow think he will be in awsome form for TDF and therefore people wont think much of him as a threat as he got raped in Giro according to them.

I would love to see him get a smack in the face as I do not like this cowboy atall but somehow I think he is bluffing his way through Giro to get a good feel how and what it is like racing again on his way to TDF.

A few good points Colonel. I've been thinking the same thing. Will he be working for Contador in the TdF or will he be the main contender in the team for the win?

or have johan and lance made the one big blunder: going to the tour with at least three riders who want to win? t-mobile?

bud, the way i see it: he pulled the bluff with lance, he did it with alberto. johan has shown all his cards. this one ain't gonna work. astana is a weakened squad. pay issues, etc...i don't see it going their way...

I dont believe he was bluffing for a minute.

He was blown out the back fair and square, he would have lost 10 minutes not three if the whole of Astana (bar Leipheimer and Horner) hadnt gone back to fetch him.

Without a team to protect him he is simply average.

If you come into these races blowing your horn about how you are going to "Help" Leipheimer to victory, best you stay with Leipheimer, cant help him much 3 minutes back down the road.

Twit.!

Anyway, Basso and Di Luca showed who is boss today, absolute class.!

Armstrong said he wants to win a stage in this Giro, and is not that concerned with the GC.

Perhaps the plan is for him to lose a lot of time, go on a breakaway on one of the transition stages, and then buy out his break-away companions WinkWinkLOL
