News on RAI last night

So I left the tv on Rai after the dramatic ITT from the Giro last night and on came the news. I cannot understand a word of Italian but the pictures helped a lot so that I could make out what the reports were all about smiley9.gif

So what news made bigger headlines in Italy yesterday than the General Motors bankruptcy and meltdown ?

a Cyclist was killed by a car on some small road in a small town in Italy. They showed the accident scene and the bike lying on the ground. Have they ever in the history of the SABC news showed a cyclist killed on the roads as one of their major headlines ? Maybe if they did that, fewer cyclists might be kocked down or even worse, killed on our roads.

I'm surprised no-one is taking this post more seriously....Angry....

we so often here and see cyclists knocked down or killed.....

I agree, Capitan Jack Sparrow...., more should be reported on injuries to cyclists...

South African mentality - Stick your head in the sand and it did not happen.

How much TV coverage do normal women/children get who are raped and killed everyday? Not much really as it is such a common occurrence.

Now what happens when comrade ramapoga (or whatever) feels like a sh*t? It's all over the news.

You want to make the headlines in RSA? Be big in local pissy rugby, cricket or soccer. Being world DH champion does not count. Winning a stage in TdF does not count. Being killed does not count.

any questions?
