Himself thinks it might be a bigger problem than just the chainring- maybe the whole bb/crankset- as all 3 chainrings wobble when pedalled.

What type of crank set are you using? Its very unlikely that you will bend the shaft it its a Shimano set-up. Tell me more and I will try to help.

yeah you must make sure that ur whole bb/crankset is cool, otherwize u will be wasting ur time trying to bend ur chainring into place. if all 3 are wobbling then it duznt sound like its just 1 that got bent!

I had a prang once that bent my Campag large chain ring. I got a couple of kiln shelves, drilled shallow holes to accommodate the chain pick up tabs in one of them, put another kiln shelf on top, and heated up the whole lot with a gas blow torch. End of problem- came out straightened.

In light of our recent plumbing misadventures I think that perhaps any activities involving blowtorches and drilling are best avoided. At least till the replacement kitchen is paid off OuchSmile

Hee hee! We can use the 2 newly-discovered leaks to keep the torch cool!!ConfusedLOL

Seriously though, looks like we're off to our LBS for a diagnosis- no more DIY on stuff we're not sure about for the time being! LOLLOLLOL
