update: received an email from the Operations Manager of Flying Dirt Retail, the parent company for Fox retail, et al, stores in Africa.

************************************************

Dear Mr. Mathews,

?

My name is Shane Thorne and I am the Retail Manager for

Flying Dirt Retail cc, who own and manage all Fox concept stores in Africa. Firstly and without reservation I would like to

apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you have been put through. You

have been more than patient and without doubt justified in your approach and

dissatisfaction. I say this after a full day of investigating the problem to

find nothing short of poor service and a total lack of efficiency within our

retail operation.

?

Michael, the assistant manager of the Fox

Canal Walkonname> store, who assisted you and took down your request

on the 1st May went on leave the following day. The store Manager,

Dean, did not reconcile the customer book and follow up with your request until

the 19th May. An order was only put through to Fox HQ in Durban on the 19th

May (for the Black XL Rampage helmet) and then followed up again on the 24th

May but it was in the incorrect colour (silver).

Had my guys contacted the Fox Africa offices in Durban the day after you

requested the item, (which is standard policy) they would have established that

the black XL you were looking for was not in SA at all and they could have let

you know right away. They have never had stock of this item. The frustrating

part is that it has taken a month to establish this because of the lack of

correct communication from the Fox Canal Walkonname>

store to Head Office. It is simply unacceptable!

?

I would like to assure you that we are very serious about

representing the Fox brand correctly. Fox Africa will always exhaust every option

to satisfy their customers (us being one of them) and this is certainly not the

level of service they expect from us. We have taken firm action against the

staff involved and can assure you that we will do everything to ensure that

this does not happen again.

?

On behalf of our business I would like to once again

apologize for this poor level of service and for bringing the Fox brand and Fox

Africa in disrepute.

?

Gary Greenonname> will be in

contact with you regards your helmet.

?

Please contact me directly should you have any further

problems at any of our stores.

?

Kind Regards,

?

A big up to Shane for fessing up that it was their fault. I stil think, that considering how simple the problem was, and how swiftly Fox dealt with the problem, my chosen course of action almost seems overkill. I said it before, and others here on The Hub have said I was in within my rights. Still..

Either way, I got way more than I had hoped for, so a huge thanks to everyone involved, especially Gary Green from FoxAfrica. Cant wait to see how my new Fox Rear shock handles. :)

Where can I find a fox shop in PTA or JHB? I tried google and the fox site without any luck.
