Can get a 120mm fork for a very good price.  My Anthem 1 designed for 100mm fork and I have been running a 100mm fork thus far.  Ride mostly single, jeep and gravel trails up here in NAM.  Some racing, but no good at itWink This will be an upgrade.

What will the difference in handling be?  Has anyone done this? Is this advisable?

Your advice and comments are appreciated.

Regards from NAM.

if yours is Anthem 1 then the bike was originally spec'd with an 80mm fork, which then became 100mm (not yours personally, the Anthem range) Now quite a few reviews said the increase to 100mm made for a small but noticeable slowing of the pin sharp handling the bike was praised and loved in many reviews for.

Going to 120mm will further slacken the head angle and further slow the steering response, plus you'll still only have the 3.5Inch rear travel, but with more weight over the back of the bike.....

I'd say stick with 100mm, or go with Anthem X.... If that's not an option then blow the cash you've set aside for the fork on an RP23 shock (assuming you're running RP2) or maybe a wheelset upgrade (ZTR's with tubeless etc)

Your geometry will be about 1 to 2 degrees slacker. In most instances you can counteract this by fitting a slightly longer stem as it'll move your further forwards.

That said what fork are you on and what fork do you intend on buying. You need to take the ride height into account as well, ride height being the overall length of the fork.

Fitting that 120mm fork will result in a ride and response you will not like.

Just remember there is no right and wrong.

Fit it and try it, just dont get rid of your old fork yet.

Chances are good you'll put the 100mm one back on the bike

You should also consider warranty on the frame might be voided if you use a longer travel fork than the frame was originally designed for.

Thank you for all the responses.  Will take FtF's advice and take the fork out on a test ride or two first before committing to the purchase and then decide.Thumbs%20Up
