  1. Hey Splat Those are Salsa Pro Moto Carbon Sweep 17deg bars. I like them, after having ridden them for over 800km now. The Tioga saddle, however, has been replaced by the original Salsa WTB Rocket V saddle. My butt is smiling again. Regards Otto
  2. Seems like I missed that. I think this must be the only Salsa up here in NAM! Rides like a dream.
  3. @1Skinnyman - A man's gotta do; what a man's gotta do.
  4. Lekker to ride with you this am, Wapad! Are you guys riding again on Sunday morning?
  5. Definitely the 800! I smaak my 800 stukkend. Have had the 305 and the 705. The 800 has more screens, i.e. more detail at hand, thermometer and very nice new Virtual PartnerĀ® option. The bike mount and the calorie counter have also been improved. I have loaded Tracks4Africa as basemap and it works nicely. Looks cool too. Just my 2c worth. @SirK The only thing it loses is the wireless unit to unit transfer. Which I never used once in the 2 years I had my 705! You get all the tracks you need via Garmin Connect on the net.
  6. Did the first stage down to the Kuiseb on Sunday. Used Squirt on clean chain. Went for another ride yesterday and today. Still have not had to re-lube yet. Squirt will be ok for Dash. Rather worry about your butt!!
  7. ..........a braai where all the 'manne' stand around the fire and all the women congregate in the kitchen!
  8. They first turn into heifers and then into cows........they cannot get too big!
  9. Well at least they won't have to take an intercontinental flight to get home!
  10. You tell 'em Stewie!!
  11. And I thought I was going to see pics of a badly written off/ damaged/dead 29er................hahaha
  12. Dealt with 3 different hubbers in the past. Absolutely no problems!
  13. Thank you for all the responses. Will take FtF's advice and take the fork out on a test ride or two first before committing to the purchase and then decide. 14. Can get a 120mm fork for a very good price. My Anthem 1 designed for 100mm fork and I have been running a 100mm fork thus far. Ride mostly single, jeep and gravel trails up here in NAM. Some racing, but no good at it This will be an upgrade. What will the difference in handling be? Has anyone done this? Is this advisable? Your advice and comments are appreciated. Regards from NAM.
  15. True, but where does one get these innovations big air canisters in SA? Sure as hell do not have any here in NAM!
  16. Maybe we should start something like David Zabriskie has in the US? See http://yieldtolife.org/ I think it is the way to go, but I have my doubts whether it'll work in SA or up here in NAM.
