Anyone know off hand the gear teeth differential capacity that a DuraAce 10 speed short cage rear derailleur can take?

Yours is the 23 mate .....21 was promptly removed and thrown discus style while still in a state of post Boulders dillireum.

Slightly 'off topic' but, in the 7900 range, they sell an 11-28 Cassette.

Does that mean that the 7800 derailleur can take 11-27, and the 7900 11-28?

There is ways to mod it to make the range bigger, check the weight weenie forums, guys use DA rear mechs on their mtbs
