So I got a set of these two weeks ago:

Really nice gloves and got to test them out tonight on my detour home - brilliant gloves. OK, this is not a rant 'n rave thread but a Tech Q&A

How do you size your gloves? I have small hands and was recommended a large set. My LBS owner has the same size hands as me and wears the same size. The issue here is my hands are broad, but my fingers short.

The points are floppy and the thumb has lots of spare room. My wife always laughs at me when I haul out her sewing machine to do alterations and I'm about to alter these gloves or just make them fingerless.

Do you get gloves for short fingers, or do I need to accept that I will always be shortening my gloves (and not sell my wifes sewing machine for parts LOL)?

When it comes to gloves I always go for a snug fit - gloves will stretch a bit as well. Perhaps different brands will differ in finger length/width. But you want them to fit like a glove LOL.

I think the stretching will be due to the material used. I looked at the gloves last night and it pretty much stretch resistant material - except for where the thumb is.

I must say that the comfort fit is really nice and I don't have issues of my hands slipping in them. I guess it might vary from brands as the other pair I was recommended (all season full finger) was a tighter fit but lacked the extra knuckle busting padding of the Freddys.

Oh well, going to get myself a fingerless pair next week anyway as this morning I realised why full finger is really handy in the Cape Winter (and it has yet to start).
