Can anyone tell me...

In
order to obtain a league license do I need to be part of a team/club? Or is
there a ?one-man? license which I could apply for?

Join a club and have a seeding A-C and you can get it. You dont have to be part of a team.

You can get it with a lower seeding too if you are in the Sub-vet, vet or master cats.

You can also get a cyclosport licence thru the PPA without belonging to a club even.

Yeah, I wanna ride winter League, should teach me a thing or two... I do understand I'll be out the back quite often.

I've been riding for a year and 2 months, do you think I'm perhaps rushing into it?

Put it this way, your first impression will be how different it is from the normal group riding! For example none of my league rides count toward my current seeding.

I started league after about 18months and although I'm only in the toppie league (as if that makes a difference) I battle with the constant change of pace with attacks & whatnot.

I have a lot of aspects to work on - one on the main areas is my 5 minute power as I have found that is the main difference between group riding & league racing. If you can hang in for 7-8  5 min attacks then at least you won't get dropped -  usually.

Being competitive however takes a lot more.
