Its at Paarl, along with the WP DH prize giving. Pity I can't make it :(

But its really nice to see loads of photo's coming from one race, usually it's a struggle to find photo's of yourself after a race.

yeah, that track in that heat was always gonna get seriously ripped up. I see from the photos the berms are destroyed in parts. needs a good watering and rebuild. awesome track. Definitely one to ride in the wet. will be very interesting ;)

Looking to spend 20k on a new DH bike, any recommendations?

Recently the guys here had one of these on test:

...a 2011 Scott Voltage FR20.

Ok... so technically it's a freeride bike... BUT... rear travel can be set to 7.9"

It has a 200mm fork up front...

I took it for a brief spin and liked it! Hit one or two dirt jumps... it felt nice! The more experienced guys were also very impressed.

But best of all... if I remember correct it retails for around 15-17k BRAND NEW!

here the specs:

But note... the test bike had it's fork upgraded to a Boxxer... which will cost a bit extra but may be worth looking into.

here are some more pics of one with a boxxer

Hope that helps you on your quest for a 20k DH bike

Quote from the new tread mag. . .

Downhill mountain bikers may just have it all. They're laid back, fun-loving, they look cool and they don't feel the need to rush to the top of any slope ever. And then they get to embrace gravity and ride as fast as they possibly can down any decent, mostly not pedalling, flowing smoothly over the roughest terrain, impressing their peers, pushing the limits of physics, maxing out their adrenal glands and suspension travel and just having a lot of fun. Want some of that?
