No Issues, I have a Spez with carbon seat stays and it works really well. There is not so much pressure on a seat stay, they are usually bonded very well to the frame.

Stupidity I guess. Its known to happen.

something to be said for introspection.

This is quote of the day.

Millions spent on R+D, millions spent on marketing and brand development. and then lets put out bikes that are s**t and flush all our efforts down the crapper.

From a safety perspective - no problems. It is easy to design a carbon/alu bond that will last forever on a bike.

From a marketing perspective, it is a fantastic idea - carbon sell better than alu.

From a performance perspective, it does not make sense to put carbon stays on a alu frame. It does not offer any real weight advantage (may even be heavier than alu stays), probably does not improve ride comfort, and does not significantly increase lateral stiffness at the bb.

The 5g you are going to save is not really woth the extra buks you'r spending.

The only reason why there are carbon seat stays it to put it on a carbon frame... more of a visual appeal than any thing else.

Good luck en njoy the scott
