leet22 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I want to start upgrading my bike and i thought the wheels would be a good place. At the moment I have Mavic Zeniths on. What would be a decent upgrade? NOt Intrested in $$$$$$$ wheels Shimano WHR 561 Wheelset what are these like?
patrickw Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Mavic Crossmax SLR 2009.You can not come close to the stiffness with any other wheelset! Shop around for these.You should be able to pick them up new with cassette and brake discs for under 10k.

javadude Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Fulcrum racing 7. Almost the same weight as the Shimano but has regular spokes so can be easier to repair at any bike shop. Red ones look pretty bling too.

Bit of a bold statment to make. SLR wheels are/ have: A) HeavyB) Crappy freehubsC) Incredibly Expensive Google SL or SLRs and stiffness to weight ratio. You'll find masses of info that put Mavics very close to the bottom. Do the same search on I9 wheels and you'll get mounds of data that report the exact opposite of what you get with the Mavics.
