Same agents as Manitou, Cycles Africa. They moved shop to Somerset West recently so service and back up should be quick. Reviews have been average in terms of performance.

Still not a Fox or RS, but it's not a bad piece of kit. If it was a aftermarket purchase I would say go with a Fox or RS, but OE on that bike...not a problem.

Thanks Crow

I posted the BEST MTB FOR A LADY topic?

Looking at specialized era fsr comp/merida 96 1000/3000, 2010 models.

Specialized:Perfect! but price is an issue

Merida: my choice, better groupo I believe, but magura shock

I'd rather ride a Magura than a Spez fork or shock! Not a big enough performance dif to base your final decision on that.

Go with the better ride and the better value for money bike. As the Spez is made by Merida, the ride should be fairly similiar...go with the Merida.

Magura has proven themselves on the WC circuit and I doubt there is anything to worry about. And seeing that it is a women rider I doubt it will actually be used to its full ability.

+1. Go with the Merida.

Era comp comes with a Mini Brain...they are rubbish. Truly awful. If something that bad was on any other brand with less money to spend on marketing and hype no one would buy it.

Brain FADE is the correct name for it though.
