Did a ride a while back, downloaded to Garmin Training center and now want to import or transfer it to Mapsource?Tankman2009-08-31 13:34:44

There might be direct converters available, but I have never used any.

What does work, is to import to SportTracks from where you can export to GPX.

Why Garmin Training centre uses such an unfriendly proprietary format that is not even compatible with Garmin's other software I do not understand.

Best not to even bother with Training Centre; just use SportTracks.

I Hate Garmin TC I get Irritated when I try and Imagin how some guys designed the software and skimped on the Job "bigtime" and then sat down and said to each other "good job mate" when looking at the Pathetic map abilitys, Cant even copy paste from the Info window..

The otherday mine crashed and when recovering the info I can suddenly not get any map or elevation details anymore..only stats, so I cant even see where I rode.. helps me none. Luckly I still have sportstracks..Much better and friendlier. Download it for free and see live googlemaps  In the actual programm, The software is "open" so there are many addons & Plugins like Mountain Lion said.

Someone said it the other day... Garmin better start waking up..

I agree, Sportstrack is much better, have been using it for a year now and much more flexible and user friendly.

I contacted garmin to see if you can change a couple of things in TC, their answer, "sorry it is software we cant do anything about it" ...! Thats the whole point of software isnt it, if you dont like it, write something new!

On my Garmin Nuvi Gps, it doesnt give you an option to use a qwerty keyboard which really sucks! the keyboard is abcdef all in one line. Answer from Garmin - if you want a qwerty keyboard upgrade to a model that has that function! After hours of fiddling with the software I was able to change and re-program the keyboard to the way I wanted it.

Garmin needs to wake up in the software department!
