i think it was a nice race. i agree that a big hill in the beginning sorts everyone out. Then more or less equal strengh riders ride together.

I Big%20smile all the way up the hill enjoying passing the FS riders on my HT... hehe..

I really enjoyed the race. The tar downhill was fun - last time I went that fast on tar on my MTB was at the Monster. Will definately do it again next year. I think they should try and organize better or more consistent weather - this cold early morning & hot afternoon stuff was uncalled for!

I also enjoyed the race...the tar sections were not a big issue to me!

Good organizing and route directing/marking....at least we did not end up going the "wrong" way around like the Down&Dirty last week LOL

The downhill sections on the other side of the koppie/mountain was AWSOME....I made up alot of places there and ended up doing a huge "stoppie" (to the disbelief of a few riders Shocked) right at the bottom where everyone dismounted...it was all about having fun!

My 1st MTB race and really enjoyed myself. There was enough of everything to keep things interesting and I will be back next year. MTB races are way tougher than road !!!!!!!

All I can say is if the race could've gone into the gorge and not down Hillsnacks then you guys would have complained a hell lot more. And it would've sounded something like "its a 40km mtb race! What were they thinking! We're not training for the epic!"

Its a pitty that we never went down there as the hills gets steep and technical.

I will be very happy to assist in planning next year route as there are tons more routes that they could include and even make this a 60km race.

On a different note, despite all the pushing. The Kloofsicht challenge ended up being 720m of climbing on a mere 40km route. Impressive!
