Carmegeddon, is this what is prophesied in the Transformer movies... The return of the car, and the end of everything else?

you dont fight hate with hate..that only makes it stronger. This is why nothing will ever change in the country. we have to start loving to make a difference.

i wish love could conquer all, but it can't. the true warrior doesn't fight out of hatred. he fights for love cause it's his duty (dharma). he also knows which battles to avoid. he allows hatred to fight itself. it self-destructs. he watches it happen as goes in search of love again...not a cattle prod.

As I "pointed" out earlier, it will be hard. smiley2.gif But  here is another thought: we teach our children that it is rude to point. On "THAT", would it be considered rude not to point?

Thoughts?

This may annoy a few but groups of cyclists should be limited in size. It is against the law for cars to travel in convoys without getting permission. It then follows that if cyclists have the rights of cars they have the laws as well and should not travel in large convoys. On a practical level it annoys motorists more and is hugely more dangerous.

I think I am safer on my own for many reasons. When in groups people stop thinking and assume some one else in the group is paying attention, often incerrectly. No one signals and cars have no idea what we are up to. One person catches a light on green and the others rush through on late orange or red to not be left behind. Altogether a recipe for disaster.

I commuted for years and hardly ever got knocked over and when I was the motorist was always very apologetic. Best to avoid it if you can but once run over you should insist on a lift home. Once I did not do this and had to carry my bike from Sandton to Yeoville because I never noticed that my rear wheel had been so bent out of shaped by the impact. Use lots of dramatic hand signals but not aggresivly. Wave, smile, give thumbs up and let people know you are there and what you. Let them know you are a person. A rude sign once got me pulled off my bike in Rivonia road and beaten up by 3 guys, I almost missed happy hour at my local because of it as Munroe drive is tough out the saddle when you have been kicked in the ribs.

Anyway, who says road riding is soft and needs no skills!!!!
