Stolen MTBs in Ladybrand - 25/9/2009

While on a 3 day organised MTB tour in the Free State we had three bicycles stolen on the night of 25 September 2009.

 

The details of the bikes are:

 

1.  Giant Anthem 2 (black) 2009

2.  Raleigh Ridge Disk - Medium (2009) - 6 months old

3.  Silverback Outback - Medium (silver) (2009) - 2 months old

 

The last two bikes on the list were those of young teenagers doing their first "stage" ride and had just completed the first two days of 69km and 90km.  They were naturally distraught but were lucky to be able to ride the last day half the route each on a bike borrowed from another rider who couldnt finish.

 

Their bikes were unfortunately not insured.

 

The matter was reported to the Ladybrand Police but no feedback has been forthcoming to date.

 

I know its a long shot but if anyone sees any these bikes for sale in a pawn shop or where ever please let us know.

Ive only lost 1 expensive bike of 30 k  a while back after that day, I bought cables and padlocks, .... SSF class 2 padlocks!
