Where are the good rides in the WC with in a decnt distance to CT? Done tokai and Oak valley , know of Lebabnon. Where else do you guys ride with nice single track?

... or if you want a quick one after work, try the new hillcrest route (6km loop, more than half of it on single track and plenty of climbs to give you an intense workout)

That would be Hillcrest Wine & Olive Farm, just outside Durbanville on the way to Durbanville Hills.  If you are a Tygerberg MTB Club member it is free otherwise it is R20.  You could also try Majik Forest in the Welgemoed area, you can do about a 10km route there.

if you ride a loop of majik down superspeedway and 2 loops of hillcrest and back it gives you a nice 30km ride with lots of single track, a bit of jeep track and (unfortunately) some tar smiley2.gif

.... and there's bound to be more single track added before the end of the year. The tar stretch on brussel's route isn't much - about 3km each way.

easy-peasy use super speedway:

just before you get to the substation from the beacon head right through a gate and down super speedway to poplars restaurant. Then you head up and over tiekiedraai

are we allowed down this road? ie the road towards poplars restaurant?

try contacting the guys at tygerberg mtb for a map of majik - addresses are on the website www.tygerbergmtb.co.za alternatively, make a date and time and post it on the hub and you're bound to get a crowd who can show you around.

The entrance to hillcrest is on the bend on tiekiedraai - sign in at security and get your permit at the restaurant. the route is very well marked so you won't get lost.

hillcrest's single track is flowing and not technical - if you're looking for more technical stuff then the upper reaches of majik are a better deal.
