So what can it be?

Let me start of by saying that I use the "auto start & stop" function on the unit.

Thursday evening went for a ride and while on the open road the unit would beep and stop and then start again. Happened about 7 times.

Had a ride on Friday morning and Saturday and it was fine. Yesterday again the unit started doing the same.Confused

So, do you think it might be the battery of the speed sensor that's going flat? I checked the back of the battery yesterday and saw that I repalced the battery on 31 January 2009- I thought that these last about 2 years.Confused

Battery on the speedsensor last long as far as I know.

replaced mine once or twice over 7 yr period.

When was he battery replaced on your wrist unit?

I had a loose connecton at one stage in my wrist unit that caused it to restart itself.

IHF products sorted it out.

give them a call might help you a bit

Battery in the unit was replaced by IHF on 12 February 2009.

I think I am going to have the battery of the speed sensor tested first, would be the easiest option, then if the battery is ok, then it must be something else.

Hey, 7 years, what do you like ride once every 2 monthsLOL

my polar has about 31000 km on it know

mostly MTB kilometers wit a lot of single track.

I have never paid for a replacement HR strap in this 7 yrs. .  just replace it with a new one 2 weeks ago. IHF is awesome

Ok, mine has nearly 42000km and I think I have replaced my HR strap once. Also had my PC board replaced about 3 years ago, I was a bit curious and fiddled around and damaged the temperature unit.

But yes, must admint IHF are cool.

Feedback: had the battery checked and it only measured 1 volt (of the 3 volts it is supposed to), so replaced it and the problem seems to be gone!!!

The day after replacing the battery I went for a ride and my heart rate readings were way too low. So just replaced the battery in the HR strap and it was fine on yesterdays ride. Seems the batteries that they sell these days only last about a year.Confused
