Came across this article yesterday...

It had a tip for rookies about cycling, it suggested that you change to a higher gear while maintaining the same cadence when you wish to go faster rather than pedaling faster in the same gear.

 

This might be general knowledge for some more experienced cyclist, but I always did exactly the opposite to what they suggest, stayed in the same gear and pedaled fastersmiley9.gif

Thought I should share, maybe it would be useful to other cyclist starting out, know it made a hell of a difference for me, average speed increased and I didn't get as tired as beforesmiley32.gif

Elvin, isn't that pretty obvious? What on earth are gears for but to let you maintain a comfortable cadence while your speed changes.

yeah after tomorrow i will not hurt my knees anymore by falling... still have a ride tonight which i will hurt my knees on Confused

Guess picking ones nose when a toddler does indeed contribute significantly in brain development

... the unclipping part was painfull, could understand is at first...

Guess picking ones nose when a toddler does indeed contribute significantly in brain development

... the unclipping part was painful, couldn't understand is at first...

this is something you would never have to muse over if you just bought that single speed instead.....Wink

tip three:  surgeon general warns that picking your nose while cycling may be dangerous...

 

Also picking your nose while typing may contribute to grammatical errors.....
