are they any good?reliable?easy to install?easy to screw up when installing? have never used them, but I'm very curious, looks like a lot less hassle when you have a isis bb and a square taper crank puller.

Yes they do work and I have them on the Tandem. The outer ring needs a pin wrench to install but a old needle nose plier can also work. They consist of two parts, the outer ring that screws into your crank threads,(The threads that are engaged by a normal crank extractor) and a crank bolt with part of the head cut away. You need to grease the whole thing well with Copper Grease (you can get Spanjaard copper grease at most Motor Spares Shops, just handle with care as this stuf is very poisonous.... they say!!!!)

You can get a crank extractor that work on both square taper as well as splined (Isis), These vrank extractor bolts work on both splined and square taper as well.

thanks H. I have discovered that an old cone also wors succesfully as stopper for the isis axle.put the bike on its side, drop the cone in,and use normal extractor. a thick washer also works. will have to do till I can afford the proper equipment.
