Northern Farm no longer safe to ride on your own

No I don't assume it's safe, I don't think in SA you are (from crime) anywhere.

I always ride with my pepper spray and knife, best I can do for self defense on the bike.

Have there been any incidents at Groenies ? I know fountains has been dodgy in the past ( don't know the current situation)

Also great to hear of the developement riders.

I'm up for Groenies and Im coming to study in Randburg next year so I'm in the vacinity in the week.  Maybe early mornings if there are showers ? Or late afternoon so I can skip the traffic ;)

I usually train in the afternoons both during the week and weekends. There are showers at Groenkloof but I would prefer not going to work looking like a drenched rat every morning.

You probably ride at almost double my speed but perhaps we could coordinate our training routes so that we intersect every now and again and can keep a check on each other.

I have been riding at Groenies ever since they first opened it up for mountain biking and have yet to hear of any incidents. They don't have any means of keeping us riders informed of any incidents and I have never asked at the gate if there have been any. I've heard of a few incidents in Fountains but that was before they erected new fences etc.

Nah don't mind riding with you, I don't always need to go full tilt, a few shorter relaxed rides would be good for keeping the legs loose during the week.

It's boring riding on your own so much anyway...

Yay! I will start a thread under "Group Rides" when I'm back in Gauteng. I will PM all of you who have already shown an interested so that you are aware of the thread.

how friendly is still friendly which does not include "that" friendly?

You'll have to wait and see. Wink  Don't worry...I'm sure there are quite a few Hubbers who will vouch for me. LOL
