flats or cleats

I'm thinking about getting mtb shoes(cleats) as I already have the pedals or maybe I should just get new flat pedals DMRv8 or crankBros 5050X.What would you do?I do allmountain and some xc riding

Cleats, you'll have an advantage over peeps who ride with flat pedals cos you'll be pushing and pulling as you pedal.. just take it easy on the first few rides with cleats, you might just wipe out a few times, happens sometimes, then practice how fast you can unclip your shoes

I can ride with cleats I just want to know what would be the best to ride in?

Maybe the best of both? Shimano DX clip pedals and shoes, or Crank Bro Mallets and some DH shoes with cleats?

 

If you need to learn how to ride a bike with out cheating a set of flats will be a good lesson. I would go for the 5050's cause they are just awesome. Apparently they work really well to...
