I'm thinking of getting the Rudy Project Rydon Clear glasses, but I'm worried that the lense won't get dark enough for our bright summer conditions.

Do any of you guys have experience with these glasses?

My eyes are quite sensitive to the sun and I have a pair of them - never had a complaint in direct sunshine.

I think they work with the amount of UV, as they do not go as dark as I would like in a car for example, so won't recommend them as sunglasses, but HIGHLY recommend them as cycling glasses.

Just buy them, you do not notice the change in colour. But you do notice that your eyes are not tired after a ride. I wear mine all the time they are amazing. A friend of mine who is a pilot has even traded his beloved Raybans in favour of Rudys.

I have a pair of Rudy Photo Clears and was also concerned that they would not be dark enough for bright conditions, but David #7 has hit the nail on the head. They do not turn very dark but they are absolutely fine for riding and there is no eye fatigue.

In effect you will have two glasses in one - clear for before sunrise and then of course shades for light conditions.

Highly recommended, don't hesitate!
