Yes, but they carry a smaller weighting, and somehow the adjusted winner times penalise the stronger riders wanting to do short rides. About 2 years ago I came back from an injury and did a short ride. Ended up in the second bunch, about 1 minute behind the leaders and only scored a ride that was indexed at about 28 (good enough to maintain a J seeding) that counced about 20% to my seeding index. I queried it with the ppa and to date have not received a proper explanation why the winners time was adjusted etc. Best way to boost your seeding is to do the fast flat rides like the Tour d Worcester and the West Coast Express where the winning times do not differ much from the middle of the field's times.

This is the response  I got from PPA:

 

Shorter routes does not always count towards seeding, it depends on the weather condition as well as whether there are enough riders for that specific distance on the day etc..  Most of the time it does count for seeding but very little, the longer routes counts more.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
