ok so we tried adjusting my derailer on saturday to find out that the threads are worn by the barrel adjuster, is there anyway to fix this, or should i chuck the derailer?

Campy also make an adjusting barrel, that attaches on the down-tube, where the outer cable from your ergo-lever ends ... assuming you don't have internal cable routing of course.  That may solve your problem - just "screw" in the adjuster on your derailleur as far as it will go and adjust your cable from the down-tube in future.  Alternatively, JagWire make an inline cable adjuster (pic attached) Climate2010-01-18 09:58:25
