 Need some advice here please.

 

Will be staying in Camps Bay over the first week in Feb and will be taking my bike down. What would you guys recommend as the best mtb rides within proximity of the city (say 45 min drive max).

Havent done Contermans yet but Hillcrest has some flowing Single track , a little short at the moment but still worth it. Few steepish climbs

and riding distance from my house

If you can get a map, there is a route that starts in Jonkershoek and climbs all the way up to right near the top of Pieke Mountains. From up there you get to see the entire Boland nearly. Stellies is about 50km from Camps bay though so for added motivation you will need to visit a couple of wine farms. Preferably after you ride and get driven back by Good Fellas.

Agreed, Welvanpas is well worth the outing. Three routes, beautiful scenery, and you can take a dip in their  mountain stream "swimming pool" afterwards.

Found mountain lions pics. Looks awesome. Need to plan this properly as it is not a cycling holiday and if I want to ride I need to make sure it fits in with my girls' plans.

 

I'm driving down with my bike and all the baby stuff while the girls are flying a day later.

 

Will probably be hooking up with hagar up in Jacobs Baai on the second weekend.

 

I think Tokai should be tackled during the week when there are fewer peeps around. Where do the trolls hide these days?

ok this ride will take place 6 feb from jacobsbaai to saldanha military academy and then back to jacobs baai nice scenic route of +- 45 km it could be extended if you like any one want to join you are most welcome !!
