So from a couple of reviews on the Pro II hub I see there are a couple of complaints regarding the aluminium free hub body - I have fallen victim to the same problem, where the cassette tears into the free hub body and you pick up shifting issues smiley19.gif

Do any of the LBS (in JHB) stock Hope? The steel free hub body in particular.

Thanks

The aluminium free hub body as you have pointed out has been known to give hassles but more specifically with LX/Deore cassettes.

With the spider on XT, XTR & top end SRAM cassettes, this doesn't appear to be too much of a problem given the superior quality of those spiders.

Hope do make a stainless steel free hub body.

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

I think my issue has come about from the cassette that I'm using , one of the SRAM models where each gear is individual with a plastic spacer. So the individual gears are tearing into the alu free hub body. It worst on the gear that I (attempt) to wheelie in most smiley9.gif

I was hoping to 'upgrade' to the stainless steel model, but it's just quite a bit more expensive to buy locally, so I may revert to my old wheel set and wait for CRC to get stock and get a new cassette at the same time.
