Why oh Why????

Why bother with presta?

Pain in the butt these two types, I say...

Always needing a conversion adapter to pump it etc.etc.

Don't tell me about weight saving....take a dump pre race and shed at least 440g!!!!

R65 each, bit steep!  I took 4 so they gave them to me at R55 each.  Kenda 20" x 1 1/8".

I cut mine right down resembling a Stan's strip, so no rubber overhanging the rim edge.  Took my Dad and I 20 minutes to do the one, and about 15000 hours to do the other Angry

Eventually we sawed an old Schrader valve up, leaving us with just the threaded end piece.  Screwed that on to the Presta valve and used the compressor at the Engen, took us 5 minutes if that.  From now on it's off to the petrol garage everytime!

This was using second hand UST tyres, Crossmark rear, Kenda Karma front, on brand new Sun Ringle SOS wheels Big%20smile

I'll let you know tomorrow if they are still up.  No more soap bubbles so I'm holding thumbs.

Both wheels still rock hard. Front wheel still at exactly 3 bar, rear wheel a little lower but I think we might not have taken it to exactly 3 bar yesterday, so I dont think it's from leakage.

Forgot to mention that I used 3 rotations of insulation tape to seal the nipples.

It was awesome watching the bubbles slowly stop appearing as we shook the wheel and worked the sealant into all the leaks.
