Having just spent the last hour and a half fitting new Conti UST's (MK and RK) to my DT Swiss wheels with Joes strips, I'm seriously beginning to lose humour with conversions,UST tires, busted tire levers and bent thumbs.

How does one go about choosing tubeless rims / wheelsets? As per usual, I'm sure it's a matter of you get what you pay for, but what are the things that you weigh up vs cost?

Weight? Robustness? How do you measure robustness?

Any advice appreciated.

Felt the same when i started out doing my own conv`s.Angry But you know what, the more i did it the easier it became.Smile The right tools are important esp the right tyre levers and patience. Got 4 sets of mtb wheels, Mavic crossmark(tubeless rims), 2 sets DT SWISS(tubeless conv) and ZTR(tubeless conv). All bought 2nd hand and no issues. Mavics, Shimanos require no rimstrips, lower weight higher cost and GENERALLY the lighter the wheel the less durability. Hope that helps.
