Silverlakes 06:00am Saturday Outride

Are there any people reading this forum that were at the Saturday morning ride from "Single Track" through Silver Lakes area? 

It was the first time I did the route with a mate of mine, and I can highly reccomend it.  The scenery made it really worthwhile.  I am hoping to stay closer to the front this Saturday.  I found the downhills a bit daunting with my hardtail.  But a nice atmosphere and cool people.

Have done it but find the groups too large and the pace too inconsistant and the distances too far or short.

My first ride with them was on the 6th of Feb. What distance did you do?

I really enjoyed it and found the pace much higher than with my club. I think I can learn allot from these okes and will defiantly go there again. Very nice route (accept for the gun shots) and the distance is always helpful. We aimed for 60km but ended around 75km.

I found the scenery cool.  And the climbs quite challenging.  It is a big group, I agree.

I didn?t notice the scenery. I was to tired to look anywhere else than my front tire

Well then I dont know, we did around 60km with a 20kph avg but there were no real climbs, small inclines but nothing lungbusting IMO. 

 

Maybe you did a new route or had faster riders ?

From where exactly does this ride start and is at 06:00 every Sat morning. Can anyone with reasonable fitness join or do you need to belong to the/a club? Contact person maybe??

Bennie is the owner, anyone can join for free, usually a social ride and a bit faster 30 and 60km group, as well as a few doing more distance for the epic/sani.

 

Anyone can join, youll love it if you are the avg recreational rider, nice folks, very friendly.
