I have used full?SRAM Red since June 2009. Never had any issue. No need to swap it. It works perfectly! So what if it is a bit noisy. It is not really that much noisy.

It sorta growls and yes the missing teeth are rather disturbing. It takes a propeller head to explain why they are missing.

However, I have found that if you ride next to a Pinarello with Crappy groupo, then it actually ain't that loud or so bad !!

Isn't there a greater chance of chewing your cassette body with this cassette?

I have also noticed how noisy they are, not by riding them myself, but by riding behind those that do. It was my guess that the noise came from the chain rubbing on the steel in between the cogs - is that not a possibility, given the design?

Never mind the noise and your other concern, my major worry would be the price smiley18.gif.

The Red cassette is a more snug fit on the cassette body than a Shimano or a Campy is on a Campy cassette body.

Thas just the way it is. Tighter tolerances in machining. The other cassettes are stamped, SRAM is machined.

Yes it is noisy, hollow drums tend to be that way when you vibrate them with sticks, chains and strings... Live with it, its not an issue. I just apply a generous helping of copaslip on the cassette splines and the body engagement teeth of the Cassette. that damps the sound nicely.

the Red Cassete has been in major tours by Pro riders all over the world, I doubt a few fun ride stars is going to shear the cassette of the body, butthen again, stranger things have happened...

I use theRed Cassette all the time. testing its longevity. So far so good but Until my new bike arrives I'll not be putting much mileage on it.

I had the same issue with the fitment of the cassette for the first time. You can ask Grey Owl.. We actually had to force it onto the free body. It was also just as difficult getting it off the first time but now there is no issue what so ever getting it on or off.

I love my Red's and wont be changing them! The cassette noise? I haven't noticed any to be perfectly honest with you

With all the guys who aren't happy with the SRAM Red cassette... Would anyone be interested in selling one that's 11_25 or 11-26? I have the 11-23 at the moment and would like another cassette in case it gets really steep uphill Wink
