Flemish Lion Posted April 15, 2010 Share Check these pics of an exploding tubbie during P-R... explanation pls... http://sgoovy.wordpress.com/2010/04/13/paf/[/quote] ? Nice photo. I see nothing on the road or way back that could have damaged that tyre...they probably didn't age (or is it ripen?) the tubbie enough. ? What it tells us is that they also use sealant and notthe Slime brand. It also tells us that we think an explosion is instantaneous but it isn't. It started at least at the bottom of the wheel or some revolutions back. ? ? I bought a set of tubbies last year - a few more months in the sun and they'll be ready

Not Easton but Ambrosios http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2010/04/13/1/hincapie_bmc_pr_rim_600.jpg You had me do a double-take there! Interesting. The gold bling is a dead give-away for Ambrosio. It took me a while to figure out what's going on but it seems as if they made a vinyl sticker with Eason etc all over it and stuck that onto the box section rim before it was built. If I was Ambrosio I would be doing a Nando's style advert right now. Thanks for sharing it.

Not in the sun. Everybody knows you age these things in a cellar of sorts. Hendrik went a bit overboard by suggesting a damp cave, but a cellar would suffice. If the cellar is good enough for your wine and hocks of parma ham and parmasean cheese, it is just about good enough for ageing your hand-made tubbies.
